We caught Fortune Cafe at a Let's Eat Out Madison stop. Their cute and colorful cart was a welcome sight on a dreary October day.
JM's sesame chicken was warm, but not really any better than expected. The flavor was mostly sesame with chicken falling a distant third. The veggie entree was more of the vinegar-based slaw over a generous portion of very good coconut rice. We also tried the chicken vegetable soup.
We didn't find dinner to be a great value for the price, but that was partly because we picked up dessert, too. This turned out to be Fortune Cafe's biggest plus - they serve cendol. Their version of the coconut-milk dessert was on the thin side, very refreshing, with lots of the little green rice-flour noodles. For fans of boba, it's worth a try.
