FairShare recipe test: Holiday braised brussels sprouts

Notes from testing a recipe for FairShare CSA Coalition's latest cookbook. Buy "Farm-Fresh & Fast" here.

Brussels sprouts are divisive. The little bitter balls deserve more love; roasting often gets great results, but this recipe includes braising in dairy goodness that transforms them into something pretty tempting.

Then add stock, heavy cream or half-and-half, dijon mustard, salt, and pepper. Give them some time to soften; this batch was kind of tough (they were hardy little beads from the winter DCFM).

Stir up with some fresh parsley before serving and watch the picky palates in your life give it a try.
