JM ate the fish sandwich and fries with a lemonade.
Nichole ate the turkey reuben with clam chowder and a Coke.
We split an order of buffalo wings.
The bill was $22, or $11/person, plus tip.
JM and Nichole both gave the Bean a B- (see our grading rubric).
This time:
JM ate the grilled ham and cheese (#62) with fries and a lemonade.
Nichole ate the BLT with chips.
The bill was $18, or $9/person, plus tip.
JM gave the Dry Bean a C-; Nichole gave the Dry Bean a C (see our grading rubric).
The service was good and the wings above average. The rest of the food was just meh, slightly below average bar grub. But the Bean's location on a major outbound commute route and its full music and events calendar hint at its niche.
This time:
The team trivia was loud, but we were unofficially 4 for 4 when we left. It took a long time for the food to arrive. The ham and cheese was rubbery and greasy ("what does this ham want from me?" exclaimed JM), with two slices of lukewarm American cheese. The BLT was just OK on thick, grill-toasted multigrain bread. The fries were standard, the chips very thin and addictively crispy (i.e. gone).
What else has changed since 2005? We learned that Reuben is capitalized in the AP stylebook. About 150 restaurants we've been to have closed - now including this one. Other than that, not much.
This post is a bit confusing. I thought you guys did not do revisits, and of a closed place is doubly confusing. :-/

Hard to believe, but Isthmus refiled "Bean" under "Dry Bean" just before the place closed. Under our own rules about interpreting the Eats List we've occasionally had to revisit places (see also Edgewater).
