"J" is for Just under halfway

Jeni's - sadly not on our list - maybe b/c it's in OhioJ was a very standard letter.  It produced one new double-A (Jamerica) and several other respected Madison dining options.  We got to meet a prominent local blogger and split an order of catfish and deep fried pork chops. We crossed the 275 restaurant mark and fell just one restaurant short of being halfway done.

Now, don't think we're naive enough to believe that we're halfway done with the list as it will stand when we finally complete it.  No, no, no.  It is just that from now on the number of restaurants left on the list will always be smaller than the number we've eaten at, which must be something of an accomplishment.

Why does the 10th letter of the alphabet equal half of the list?  Well, C is the longest letter and B is right up there.  M, P and S still remain for us and we're excited by those challenges.  The K's are also quite short (only about 10 restaurants) and the A through I make-up list seems to be heavy on closed and reopened coffee shops.

Before you know it we'll be up to L'Etoile - and possibly another marrow-rich local, seasonal dining experience in the dead of Wisconsin winter. So stay tuned!  Thanks for your continued support and thanks especially for reading and commenting.

pssst... l'étoile should have been done as an "E".

(If I may)

psssst... They go by the Isthmus Eats List. They don't do their own alphabetization (which, trust me, they could do just fine on their own).

The operators of Jada's are just so nice, it makes me glad that their food is good, too. It's a great place.

Thanks, Kyle - Anon, we're trod this ground before. Check out the discussion on the E is for Epitome post.
