Latest Firehouse news and reviews
This is just embarassing. When we last chatted with Linda, the keeper of the dining guide over at Isthmus, she warned us off Firehouse, saying it was on the List by mistake. But since it was on the List when it was time for us to run the makeup between H and I, we had to go. Had to.
The dining guide didn't make it sound too bad, though:
An unusual, upscale pizza restaurant that uses the very best of a wide variety of ingredients. Choose your own toppings or select from over 20 specialty pizzas.
We walked into the almost-empty bar and perused the menu. They have a nice slate of bar apps and burgers, but we ordered a sausage pizza. Which turned out to be a Jack's frozen pizza. Which is semi-local, at least.
The bartender was nice enough, going to so much trouble as to get out salt, pepper, red pepper flakes, and parmesan cheese, but the layer of dust on said condiment containers was somewhat unsettling.
Still, we ate our lunch and watched some of the Brewers game and got to cross another venue off our list. Not a bad day at all despite driving to Mount Horeb for frozen pizza.
