John had a turtle sundae.
JM had a hot fudge sundae with cookie dough ice cream.
Nichole had a dipped waffle cone with Zanzibar chocolate ice cream.
The bill was $7, or $2.33/person, with a coupon.
John gave Chocolate Shoppe a C+; both JM and Nichole gave Chocolate Shoppe an A- (see our grading rubric).
We celebrated the completion of weeks of Chinese food with a stop at the Hilldale Mall Chocolate Shoppe.
John's the first to admit that he's slightly biased; he used to work at a Culver's Frozen Custard, so his standards are high. Even JM and Nichole had to agree that these sundaes looked a little anemic. Just a bit more topping would have gone a long way. In other respects, the sundaes were fine.
Nichole took Sean's tip to try the Zanzibar chocolate and is soooo glad she did. It's the richest chocolate flavor she's had in recent memory. The green tea flavor is not a bad bet, either. JM loves cookie dough ice cream even from Dairy Queen. This was, of course, much better and he relished it.
Some locations serve food, though we've never tried it. Anyone?
