JM had a Sierra Mist in a can.
Nichole had a Munich Dark.
The bill was $5, or $2.50/person, plus tip.
JM gave Capital Brewery a C-; Nichole gave Capital Brewery a B- (see our grading rubric).
We made our Friday visit to the Bier Stube after a quick dinner at Culver's, since we'd done our homework and knew the brewery serves no food. What we weren't expecting was that other things would be missing:
- No root beer or cream soda (on this occasion)
- No music
- No smoking
Though anybody's preferences for music and smoking could vary, JM was looking so forward to a really good root beer that its absence from the bar was devastating. *weeps softly*
We can't write like beer connosieurs because, well, we're not. (Maybe we should have brought Andrew, who works at a microbrewery, here instead of to Cafe Montmartre.) Suffice it to say that Nichole enjoyed her Munich Dark.
The Stube crowd was squeaky clean and too polite. We kept swiveling our heads around, half expecting to see a local luminary, since it seemed like the kind of place well-heeled Middletonians would go to let their hair down.
We'd be willing to bet the Bier Garten would be a fine place to spend a summer night playing games, but the Bier Stube was less than we'd hoped for.
