Bridges Golf Course

In a word: Small menu, big flavor.

The specs: #0045
Address, hours & details via Isthmus; reviews at Madison.com and again, Wisconsin Fish Fry Reviews, Madison Fish Fry, collected at del.icio.us; Bridges on the Green Restaurant on Urbanspoon

JM ate the beer battered cod with fries and a lemonade.
Nichole ate the baked cod with homemade chips.
The bill was $22, or $11/person, plus tip.
JM gave Bridges a B+ ; Nichole gave Bridges an A- (see our grading rubric).

Thank God this county's name is Dane, so we can't call this restaurant the Bridges of Madison County.

It was less fancy than Nichole thought it might be (she's easily intimidated by golf courses). In fact, the whole atmosphere was reminiscent of a shiny new community center. You know, where the old folks go to play bingo or attend basket weaving demonstrations. Except this place had Elvis Costello on the jukebox.

Bridges makes a dang good fish fry. Though we both had cod, they serve perch too. The homemade potato chips are not to be missed - mm mm mmm, warm, crispy-chewy, and not over-salted. Definitely a good addition to the Madison-area fish fry rota.
