Baker's Too

update: Baker's Too is closed.
Reconstructed from memory after we lost our notebook...

In a word: Great place for downtown lunch takeout, but logistically tricky for anything else.

The specs: #0021
(Nichole had to get carry-out after work which we ate at home later.)
JM ate a ham and cheddar sandwich on wheat and a glazed longjohn.
Nichole ate the black bean wrap and got a piece of carrot cake for later.
JM gave Baker's Too a B-; Nichole gave Baker's Too an A- (see our grading rubric).

While JM said his sandwich featured "oppressively bready" bread, Nichole's black bean wrap was very tasty and so filling the carrot cake had to wait until the next day. It was still superb, better than Peacemeal's and any other carrot cake in recent memory. Nichole would eat at Baker's Too on any workday in a heartbeat.

I'm a huge fan of their desserts. The scrumptious bar is a wonderful concoction of crispies, peanut butter, and chocolate. Mmmm.

And their muffins are delicious (lemon streusel is probably my favorite)--and half-off after 2pm on Fridays. Good to know for wallet-watchers like me.

I loved this place when it was open. I can't tell you how many times I would go get a delicious and ridiculously cheap sandwich, take it down to the ARCH @ Gordon, eat it in the office while chatting with the managers, and then open the computer lab. Good times.
